What has been the most coldest day in October? What has been the warmest day in October? We are doing a weather report at school I was wondering if you could give me some tips for the weather report. Hope you are both having fun.

Hi Kassidy

Sorry this info might be way too late for your report. The coldest day in October was -15.6C and the warmest was -1.1C. I hope you are having fun at school

I love going to visit the Emperor Penguins they are so amazing! It's pretty exciting riding a quad bike out there, it's very bumpy and sometimes we get bogged in the snow.

Cheers

Hi Natasha

Our weather is much warmer now, it's fantastic! We've had few days above 0*C!!
What did you think was interesting about London's weather?
I'd have to ask our weather people about writing reports but maybe the information below will give you some tips about what to include in your reports?
We have snow storms quite a lot, we call them blizzards.
Here's the info:

Hi Lewis

Bear and I have been riding quad bikes quite a lot lately, it's really good fun.
He helps everyone with their work on station but we've had a few special dinners lately so I have needed extra help from him in the kitchen.
Hoep you are well.

Hi Oaklee

Glad you liked the photos!

The hotttest day here was in 1974 on Jan 9th, it was +10.6*C.

We have blizzards here where the wind blows very hard (sometimes over 100km/hr) and there might also be snow blowing with the wind.

What did you learn about Northern Ireland?

Cheers Bron

The warmest temperature ever at Mawson was +10.6*C (in 1974). Last month it was -1.1*C. It's so nice that it's warming up here.
I had shorts on the other day! It was -5*C and felt warm :)

Hi Thomas
Thanks!
We have blizzards here quite a bit. That's when the wind speed is consistently over 30knots for an extended period of time. It gets very hard to walk outside when the wind is over about 65knots. But it depends on how much you weigh!
Hope you had fun learning about weather.

Hi Elisah
I bet it's warmed up in Colac now?
Glad to hear you enjoyed the camping, it's awesome fun hey? I liked camping in March when we did our survival training here, it was pretty cold though.
I did take the photos of Bear and the penguins. I just have a little 'point and shoot' camera, sometimes it would be good to have special lenses.
It's getting much warmer here now, which is fantastic. I love being outside and walking around.
We have at least one blizzard each month and sometimes more down here.

Dear bear Grylls
We have been learning about weather. Has been cold? Do you wish it was warm sometimes or do you like the cold? Is it fun there? Do you skate there? Have you seen any cool animals lately? Have you seen whales?

Hi Tegan
It is still cold at times here, mostly the temperature averages -10*C during the day. But some days it's been around 0*C.
We went skating a bit last month and the ice was really smooth, you have to go when it's not windy or you get blown away from station and it's really hard to get back :)
The ocean is still frozen near station so we don't see whales but we've seen lots of seals lately. They bite holes in the ice and come and lie on top. A lot have had babies and they are so cute.
Hope you had fun doing your weather unit.

Hi Liam

Occasionally when a big iceberg rolls over or a huge piece breaks off and falls in to the ocean it creates a big wave. But I can't say we have Tsunamis as such. I imagine if there was one that started near here we might be affected.
You might want to Google Mt Erebus, that's an active volcano down here.
